Holiday Humility

Gratidudes

As many of you know, I recently returned from the Palomar5 experience in Berlin. After getting back from the intense 7 week creative binge, it took a couple weeks to get myself grounded and back into the flow of things in Victoria…..thus causing me to have a major lack in the financial sector.

The last week and a bit I have been working hard on getting myself prepared for the New Year with many exciting projects to come. However as reality closes in on me, I realized I’m not even close to aligning with my end of year money commitments. Ever been there before???

My girlfriend (Ally), who is also in the same position as me, and I; rather than to sit around and complain about how broke we were, decided to make a fun adventure out of it! We set off this afternoon and went door to door to meet all of the neighbors in our neighborhood. We introduced ourselves and asked each of them if they had any odds-and-ends around the house they needed done. Being the Holiday Season, we figured people may want a break from the hustle and bustle.

Believe me, even for an extrovert such as myself and an entrepreneur who has taken many risks, this definitely got me out of my comfort zone and made me swallow some pride and be humble.

However, rather than being embarrassed about not having much money right now, Ally and I made this whole thing into a positive experience. We made the entire afternoon about being able to be of service to those who live around us. We gave ourselves the opportunity to open up to the Universe and receive from unexpected sources, as well as connect with people we may not have connected with before. The entire afternoon was an extremely heart-opening experience…Not just for us, one of our neighbors was so moved he gave us a brand new stream of “Tibetan Prayer Flags” that now decorate our room as that divine reminder that we are abundant NOW! Many times we had to catch our breath today.

To our surprise and excitement we discovered that many of our neighbors had a great deal in common with us with regards to our values and even the projects we are working on right now. It looks as though there may be opportunities to collaborate with some of them….If we had the money that we needed right now, we may not have been given the blessing of meeting all these incredible people who live all around us. We would not have had this unbelievably humbling, heart-opening experience!!!

What if everyone in the world who does not have everything they think they need; actually does…or better yet, the resources are all around them that they seek and all they have to do is open their heart and go a wee bit outside of their comfort zone to get it….Ally told me that this was her greatest Christmas yet!! (and Christmas isn’t even here yet…)

Give the gift of love, service, and experience this year…Make a memory that’ll last a lifetime. Those are the gifts that really matter…..

Have a blessed Holiday Season, no matter what you’re celebrating!!

Peace and Infinite Gratitude;

PS –>  Just recently a movie I was featured in called, “Beyond Belief” was released.  It is one I definitely recommend as a great gift to anyone you may know who is enduring the challenges this Spiritual path we call life can often bring us.  Check out the Trailer here and decide for yourself if it’s worth the purchase.
